I was given this book by Paula to read. I was very pleased by the story. It made me really think about
life and about how we as Christians can affect others just by encouraging them to follow and obey God.
Absolutely inspiring! Such hope the reader feels for all situations in life. Very good story line and could not put it down! Inspirational, Encouraging, and challenging! Certainly made you think about your own spiritual walk and how God has called us to be used for His glory!
I was given this book by Paula to read before she appeared on my blog. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was drawn in immediately. As someone else said, it's almost like reading Addy's testimony. The story made me think about how many blessings I might have missed by ignoring God's nudge. Great book and I predict many more will come from this debut author. I recommend this book highly!!
Paula Mowery's book, Be The Blessing is a very timely, encouraging read. Her personal, gentle way of exhibiting the principles of encouragement is like a breath of fresh air. Her tender, genteel imagery exudes throughout her distinguishing characterzation of her main character, Addy.And her ordinary dialogue about ordinary people with ordinary problems and pressures allows the reader to identify with the reality of today. Mowery's first person character, Addy, personifies the touch of our Heavenly Father, as she battles her own demons; yet, at the same time, she affects those around her with such postive strokes. As Addy forgets about her problems, and reaches out to others around, she so adequately displays the wonderful characteristics of our heavenly Father.. This book is such an encouragement in today's world of discouragement, chaos, and blame. Thanks, Paula
This book was a delight! Not only was it extremely well written, but it had a clear message that challenged me on many levels. I really enjoyed the characters, and I also enjoyed the discussion questions contained at the end of the book. I highly recommend this story not only for individuals, but also for Bible study groups.
What a challenge Paula has given us in this book! As a debut novel she's done a wonderful job. I have to say, this doesn't feel like your typical fiction story, but more as if you are sitting, listening to someone's amazing testimony. It will push you in many ways. To grow your faith. To step out of your comfort zone. To listen for God. The take-away from this book is fantastic and the author has even published questions at the end with the intent for it to be used as a Bible study. I look forward to more books from Paula.
This book is among the most powerful I have ever read, not only because of the message itself contained in the book, but also from the emotional impact it had upon me. Sometimes we feel God isn't listening to our prayers or pleas for help. But the answer isn't always immediate. Often God works to steer our lives in the directions they need to go. The Blessing Seer brings home the message God is indeed always listening and He does answer prayers. This is an excellent book and I highly recommend it, especially to those whose faith needs a boost. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it is written in first person point of view. Although it is an effective way to make the story very personal to the reader, this makes it appear to be an essay instead of fiction.
