Everyone knows that Tony Landon's dated dozens of different men and women since he joined the athletics department at the Falconer Institute of Training. Everyone who's ever gossiped with one of his exes knows that he's kinky, too.

Donovan's reputation at the institute is different. The only reason people are pretty sure he's gay is because he drinks at the same pub as most of the gay and bi Falconer guys, and he's never actually said he's straight when he's brushed them all off.

Tony's been flirting with Donovan ever since Donovan joined the institute's archery program. Even though a whole year has passed and Donovan's never given him the slightest encouragement, Tony can't quite convince himself to give up hope.

Donovan has his reasons for not flirting back whenever Tony hits on him - right up until a snippet of overheard gossip lets him in on an interesting fact that just might change everything.

The odds are stacked against two very different men ever finding happiness together, but as far as Tony and Donovan are concerned, it's still worth a shot.

Author note While this story can be listened to as a standalone title, some elements might make more sense if you've already listened to Worth Waiting For.

I liked, but was not impressed, with this one. I wasn't impressed with the first, either, but I'd hoped for improvement. It felt more like half a story. Donovan seemed like a rather immature character. Definitely insecure. My take is that the kid was raped, repeatedly. It was pretty much a cured-by-the-magic-penis story. Yes, it was good that Tony took his time and went at Donovan's pace. So it kind of acted like a therapy, as several months went by with gradual steps to full sex. The kid should have been getting real therapy. He kept saying the guy, Ryan, didn't make him do anything. Ryan coerced and taunted Donovan into allowing himself to be used. I just didn't care for the way that aspect of the story was handled. It still ended up as a good story, since Tony went forward the right way. This is in no way a BDSM story. There is some dominance and submission involved and a little light bondage. BDSM is discussed but never actually occurred. I'd have liked this much better if that had progressed!

Worth a Shot FIT Guys Kim Dare Joe Arden 9781536691290 Books Reviews

Hot - emotional and HEA. What more could you want - less steamy than other books by this author.
I loved this book. Donovan had his self esteem almost destroyed by another guy. Tony has a lot of strength and is a dominant. Tony has major feelings for Donovan and vice versa. They eventually work everything out and fall in love with each other. Erin
A decent second story in the FIT Guys series. I enjoyed Tony's tenderness and willingness to do what was necessary to put his guy at ease in their developing relationship. The kink wasn't as hot as in the first story, but it was okay. I think their HEA was believable given the circumstances.
I read 'Worth Waiting For' and had really liked Tony in that as the protective yet tough older brother, so I was curious to read more about him. The thing that I just love about both Tony and his brother, Colby, is how patient, understanding and compassionate they are. They enjoy being kinky sure, but geez, what amazing guys they are - safe harbors for both Donovan and Noah. This was a great read about building a real relationship on attraction, a chance for Donovan to deal with his stuff and for Tony to reveal what it means when he is committed to someone.
The characters are well thought out and their relationship is given the time to grow instead of rushing into the sex and kink. Like with all of Kim Dare's books, the sex and kink add to what is already a good story and the building of a strong relationship between her characters. Donovan's character is so easy to like because you get to see his struggle to heal and move on to a healthy relationship with Tony.
I adored this sweet and sexy romance with heavy character development. Tony and Donovan finally connect after admiring each other from afar. Donovan was struggling to move forward after leaving a somewhat mentally abusive and sexually pathetic boyfriend. Tony, who was protective without being controlling, was committed to helping Don replace those bad memories. There were plenty of extremely steamy scenes with lovely dialogue to help make the emotional connection. There was a bit of angst, since neither of these guys shared that they wanted to take the relationship further. This is the second book in the series, and I loved it as much as the first, Worth Waiting For.
Kim Dare is a consistently excellent writer of M/M erotic romance novels, usually involving kinky sex to one degree or another. For those of you who shy away from BDSM, you can enjoy this delightful book since there is very little kinky sex in it. We have met one of the two principal characters, Tony, in Kim's previous book in this series, Worth Waiting For, since he is the older brother of Colby, one of the principal characters in that book. Tony is bisexual and actively so, with a reputation of never staying longer than one night with a woman or a man with whom he has had some kinky sex. Donovan has wanted to meet and get to know Tony intimately but is afraid to do so because of his reputation and Donovan, having been abused by a previous boyfriend, thinks that all Doms like Tony are equally abusive. He agrees to a date with Tony when he overhears Tony's friends kidding him about not having sex for three weeks, feeling that he would be safe for a while. Kim then delights us with a slowly evolving story that reveals Tony's really decent character and the evolving love of Tony and Donovan. Realizing what Donovan has previously experienced with a particularly nasty Dom, Tony very carefully educates Donovan in what a true BDSM relationship involves and slowly overcomes his fears and reluctance. My only complaint is that Kim ended the book before the two were just about to get into some kinky sex which I felt deprived the reader of some highly anticipated pleasure. Nevertheless, it is a very entertaining read and should not be missed.
